We can help you turn waste wood into amazing things. We celebrate the story of reclaimed timber; rescuing it from landfill and using it to build what people need; from handcrafted furniture to skills, confidence and community.

 

If you want to build your team, grow together, or create something unique and meaningful for your space, while helping our mission of reducing waste and empowering communities, then our WoRD (Team Building) workshops are for you.

 

Our workshops are held outdoors at the beautiful Garden of Earthly Delights in Hackney, or we can bring our carbon-free pedal-powered mobile workshop to you!

 

Over one day (or many), our friendly facilitators will guide you through the basics of woodworking - no matter what skill level you have - and help you to create your own amazing reclaimed timber project. Whether it’s something bespoke to enhance your space, something individual everyone can take home, or a pay-it-forward project to enrich one of our many community growing partners across London, get in touch to discuss how we can work together.

Got something special you want built for your place? We create bespoke pieces using high-quality reclaimed timber and local carpenters.

 

From indoor furniture to planters and bigger outdoor structures, everything we build is made with materials that would have otherwise ended up in landfill.

 

We design and deliver bespoke workshops based on unique designs - combining creativity, care for the planet and its finite resources, and inclusive community participation.

 

Whether you’re a business, community organisation, education provider, or creative collective, we can work with you to co-design a unique, hands-on woodworking experience resulting in something incredible for your space.

WoRKSHOPS

WoRD runs special workshops for teams or groups who want to learn carpentry together. Get the basics or build something for your space!

 

Our workshops are a massive hit - we take people from any skill/experience level through a journey to learn how to turn waste timber into amazing creations.

 

You can choose from our of fantastic workshop offerings:

  • Introductory workshop: learn the basics and build something together!
  • Pallet-To-Project: Demolish pallets to make something to take home!
  • Power Tools Masterclass: Get confident with the full range of hand-held power tools
  • ...or do something different: get in touch!

 

Capacity: for up to 18 people

Duration: 5 Hours, including Lunch break

 

A note on our pricing structure: We want our workshops to be accessible to everyone, and we understand that different organisations have very different budgets, so we operate on a sliding scale model. Get in touch with us if these costs are too high, and we can explore options. For organisations with low/ no budget , We can explore joint grant funding, or a nominal attendee ticket fee to help cover some of the costs.

Join the Woodshop of Recycled Delights for a hands-on team day, building with reclaimed timber, and making something meaningful for the local community.

 

Strengthen your team while supporting sustainability and making a lasting social and environmental impact across East London. Your team will repurpose reclaimed timber into something beautiful and useful for local communities — building teamwork, confidence, and real environmental change along the way. A great opportunity to build together, connect across teams, and support the transition to zero waste.

... and built and maintained over 50 urban green spaces using reclaimed materials through hundreds of hours of community build projects.

Delivered 600 hours of workshops to more than 1500 people

...totalling over 5,500 hours of learning and volunteering time. That's a lot of drilling!
